Back in the 1800's along the river and in the big cities, it was customary for the wealthy to have homes in more than one location. This afforded business partners who were often family members, the ability to travel between their plantation
locations and the city. While in the city, they marketed their cotton or sugar cane and generally remained there during the off-season. Travel was not a matter of a few hours, but a few days or weeks. And so these families found it more convenient to have duel residency.
Now you can enjoy the same Town and Country experience with our package by the same name. Here's what's included:
- Two nights stay at Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast in New Orleans with choice of Garden District Walking Tour or Haunted Tour and Streetcar passes for 2nd day.
- Two nights stay at the Stockade Bed and Breakfast in Baton Rouge and passes to the Old Governor's Mansion and Old State Capital.
- Bonus feature - Stop at Oak Alley and Laura Plantations on the way to or from New Orleans and Baton Rouge to experience these grand homes. (Or substitute Magnolia Mound Plantation and the Rural Life Museum on Mondays in Baton Rouge).
Rate: $319 per person plus tax
All package rates are double occupancy per person (unless indicated otherwise) and include a peaceful rest in one of our unique queen or king accommodations. In addition to the described package feature, you’ll enjoy a delicious prepared breakfast in the dining room, afternoon snacks with wine or tea and complimentary parking.
